Advocates for the film will say "it's just a slow burn, you didn't get it". Hereditary is shit, it is a slow and boring movie. Rather than give you advice on whats good I'll give you advice on whats bad. I will gladly watch any genre of horror as long as the possibility of a pay off is there.īut simply writing off everything because I think too fucking highly of myself? Haven't seen it, but I have more background with the grail legends than most casual folk, and will more than likely dig the fuck out of it.
For me The Witch stands atop king shit mountain as far as boring as fuckness goes.īut to say that Hereditary is garbage is just stupid, like I think less of you for saying that. That said, I have a strong dislike for a good number of A24 movies. Those types are easily found on Netflix and the like, and are usually made more recently.

Mostly those are dramas with a few jumpscares strewn about in the first 3/4s that remind you that this movie is supposed to be a horror. The one thing I dislike is boring horror.

His House - A refugee couple resettling in the U.K. There's an endless well of indie horror no one talks about. So here's some more obscure horror stuff. When you ask this question on /r/movies you'll get the same handful of extremely successful mainstream horror films on repeat: heredity, it follows, the witch, the babadook, etc.
